Of fairie wings and failure. Sometimes you can attempt a project not once, not twice, but three times and still not have that which you see in your head. Sometimes that's okay because what you create is so. much. better! And then there are the times you are left with nothing for a blog tour...

Fairie Wings Failure | The Inspired Wren

Let's just say in the day and age of iron-on vinyl transfers cut right in the home with precision machines, that attempting performance knit on mesh knit appliqué by hand may not be the best choice. Happily, many other blogs have created many other beautiful, amazing(!) creations to inspire and entertain you. I'd ask you to share your failures with me in the comments below, but I think your time will be better spent with these amazing blogs:

  1. Thanks for being real and transparent! We can all benefit from some "How NOT To Do It" type of posts then and again. I am always scouring the internet for that type of help when I'm trying something new..

    1. Thanks. I literally lost sleep over what to do for this post on this tour. I finally realized keeping it real, that we all have failures (sometimes repeatedly), was the best way to go.

  2. Well all have those projects. I felt like my tour post was long enough with just the story of my inspiration, that I plan on following up with another post detailing the construction of the masks and wings. Spoiler: Even though I wanted the wings to be frayed, the weight of the denim in spin cycle caused the a lot of the stitching to be ripped apart which left me with a horrible mess. I had a good cry over it but managed to stitch everything back together. Phew! In hindsight, I should of not used the spin cycle and squeezed out the excess water by hand.
